Putting specialist equipment knowledge in every customer's pocket.

The ClipperRepair Companion App extends Hemp's Clippers & Supply beyond the storefront. The iOS and Android app gives grooming professionals one place to identify equipment, save the machines they own, track maintenance, and find the parts and diagrams that keep them working.

01 / The opportunity

Turn a catalog visit into a long-term customer relationship.

The existing commerce platform already knew how machines, parts, blades, accessories, and diagrams fit together. Customers still had to remember model numbers, service dates, and which products belonged to each machine every time they returned.

The app reframes that catalog around ownership. Instead of starting each visit with a search, a customer can start with the equipment in their hands and move directly to its history, documentation, or compatible products.

02 / The product

A practical loop from identification to upkeep.

ClipperRepair is designed for repeated use between purchases. Guest access keeps model, parts, and diagram discovery open, while an account adds the personal equipment and maintenance layer.

Identify

Browse the specialist catalog by brand and model, or add equipment manually when a match is not available.

Organize

Save equipment with photos, model details, nicknames, and notes in a personal list shared with the website.

Maintain

Record sharpening, repair, blade replacement, and other service history where it stays tied to the machine.

Keep working

Move from an owned model to compatible parts, blades, accessories, diagrams, and the existing store checkout.

The workflow

Built around the equipment, not the shopping cart.

03 / Shared platform

Mobile and web are two doors into the same customer system.

The app does not duplicate the website's accounts, catalog, or commerce logic. It is a purpose-built mobile client over the same customer and product platform, with a mobile session model designed for native devices.

01 ClientsNative iOS and Android experiences plus the existing responsive website
02 IdentityOne customer account and synchronized equipment list across mobile and web
03 ServicesShared catalog, compatibility, equipment, image, maintenance, and account APIs
04 DeliverySeparate app-store releases backed by the established cloud platform

Purchases continue through the established website checkout. That keeps payment and order behavior consistent while the mobile experience concentrates on equipment, maintenance, discovery, and returning customers to the right products.

04 / Launch

One release across stores, website, and customer channels.

Store publication was treated as an operating launch rather than an isolated upload. The final iOS and Android releases were accepted on real devices, linked from the website with platform-specific badges and QR codes, and introduced through six selected customer channels on the same day.

The release also included native account onboarding, password recovery, guest catalog access, production analytics, error reporting, environment isolation, and direct in-app account deletion. Those less-visible details are what turn a prototype into a supportable public product.

05 / The result

A new product built from knowledge the business already owned.

ClipperRepair gives the business a durable mobile presence without creating a separate catalog, account system, or checkout. Customers gain a useful tool for the full life of their equipment, and every compatible-parts or service journey begins with better context than a generic search.

The app is also a foundation. Maintenance reminders, richer equipment identification, and future service workflows can build on the same shared records instead of starting over with another disconnected product.
